WBC Front Engine Plate Gasket - MG Midget 1500, Triumph Spitfire, GT6, TR250, TR6


Those in the know, know that currently available front engine plate gaskets are the wrong thickness and density, leading to the incorrect positioning of the camshaft and incorrect camshaft endfloat (due to the deformation of the front engine plate and camshaft retaining plate when using the poor quality gaskets).  For years we used NOS Stanpart gaskets which were made from compressed asbestos fiber mixed with a rubber binder.  These Stanpart gaskets had a mottled red appearance, were quite dense and compressed evenly when the front plate and timing cover were installed. 

As it always happens, one day you run out of original parts!  We saved our last NOS gasket to use as a sample to produce new gaskets from.  Working closely with our gasket manufacturer we were able to source nearly the exact same material Triumph used in the exact same thickness - it's even the same color red as the originals. 

If you or your engine builder isn't using an original red Stanpart gasket or one of our new red gaskets, then your engine isn't being built correctly.
